Asian Honey Beef Stir Fry

Honey Gives This Stir Fry Dish Just The Right Amount of Sweetness

I cooked this spicy honey beef stir fry dish for my family a couple of weeks ago, and let me tell you, it was extraordinary.

And the best part, it was very easy to prepare.  As you can see from the picture, not only was it delicious, but it was a beauty to behold.  I hope this recipe finds it way into the hearts of your family members, too!   Enjoy!

Spicy Honey Beef Stir Fry

1 lb. boneless lean beef (chuck, round or flank)
4 tbsp. soy sauce

2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. minced fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, julienned
1 red or green bell pepper, julienned
1 small jalapeno pepper, chopped
Salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
2 tbsp. oil

Here what you do:

Cut beef into bite-size strips and season with salt and pepper and set aside.   In heavy duty skillet or wok, put the oil and heat until “screaming hot”. Put the beef in the skillet (do not crowd) and cook very quickly until you have a good sear on one side and then turn the beef over so that it can cook on the other side, about 5 minutes per side.   Transfer meat to a plate and let it rest.

In the meantime, put all of the vegetables in the pan with a little more oil, and turn the temp down to medium.  Cook the veggies (onions and peppers) until they are just wilted but still crisp.  Add the garlic and ginger until it is very fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Add the meat and juices back into the skillet along with the veggies and combine well.  And the final step is to take the honey Worcestershire and soy sauces and combine these in a bowl, then pour over the meat and veggies.  And voila!  You have a flavorful, delicious dish.
For those of you on low-carb diets, this is excellent to eat as it is.   For something more substantial, serve alongside a bowl of rice or noodles. I’m sure this will become a family favorite.

Tip:  If you do not like your food spicy, just omit the jalapeno pepper, or remove the seeds.  The seeds carry the heat.
